Early Life
Roberto Irineu Marinho was born on October 13, 1947, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. He is the eldest son of Roberto Marinho, the founder of Grupo Globo, and Stella Goulart Marinho. His father, a prominent Brazilian media mogul, established the foundation for what would become Latin America's largest media group. Rise to Success
Marinho's career began at a young age at the newspaper 'O Globo,' where he started working at the age of 16. Over the years, he worked in different positions within the company, including printer and reporter. In 1978, he was appointed executive vice-president of TV Globo. He held various positions within the company. In 2003, following the death of his father, Roberto Marinho, Roberto Irineu, along with his brothers João Roberto and José Roberto, inherited control of Grupo Globo.
