Data Sources

Every net worth figure on LeaderPortfolio is estimated from publicly verifiable information, including:

• SEC filings — Form 4 insider-trading disclosures, DEF 14A proxy statements, and 10-K annual reports sourced from EDGAR.
• Stock exchange data — Real-time and end-of-day prices from major exchanges (NYSE, NASDAQ, LSE, TSE, etc.) used to value reported shareholdings.
• Company annual reports — Audited financials for revenue, market capitalisation, and EBITDA figures displayed on company profiles.
• Reputable news sources — Bloomberg, Reuters, the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times, and official corporate press releases are used to verify material events before they are reflected in profiles.
• Public records — Probate documents, real estate transaction records, and court filings where directly relevant.

We do not rely on unverified social media claims, anonymous tips, or speculative valuations for private assets without cross-referencing at least two independent sources.

Net Worth Methodology

Net worth estimates represent the editors' best approximation of an individual's liquid and illiquid wealth at the time of publication, calculated as:

1. Equity value of public company stakes — shares owned × current market price, sourced from SEC filings or equivalent regulatory disclosures in non-US jurisdictions.
2. Known private company interests — valued using the most recent disclosed funding round or comparable public-company multiples.
3. Reported real estate and other hard assets — only when disclosed in a reliable public source.
4. Less known liabilities — disclosed debt from SEC or public filings deducted where available.

Private asset valuations are inherently imprecise. All net worth figures should be read as estimates, not certified audits. We update figures within 24 hours of a material market event (earnings, stock split, major stake sale or acquisition).

AI-Assisted Content

Some news articles on LeaderPortfolio are drafted with the assistance of large language models (currently Google Gemini). When AI is used in drafting, the article is labelled with an "AI-assisted" disclosure visible to readers and encoded in structured data.

AI-assisted articles are subject to the same factual accuracy standards as human-written content. An editor reviews each AI draft before publication to verify claims against the source material, correct hallucinations, and ensure the article adds genuine value beyond the original source. The original source URL is always disclosed in the "Sources & further reading" section.

We do not publish AI content verbatim without human review. We do not use AI to fabricate quotes, invent statistics, or generate content about individuals that cannot be verified.

Update Policy

• Billionaire profiles: Net worth and rank refreshed automatically during market hours when public shareholding data changes. Biographical sections reviewed manually on a quarterly basis or following a material life event.
• Company profiles: Revenue and market cap updated each trading day. Narrative sections reviewed after each quarterly earnings release.
• News articles: Published articles may receive corrections within 48 hours of publication if an error is identified. Significant corrections are noted at the top of the article.
• Rankings: Global rankings recalculated daily from the underlying net worth data.

Corrections Policy

We take accuracy seriously. If you believe we have published an error — factual, numerical, or contextual — please submit a correction request. We will investigate within 5 business days and publish a correction if one is warranted.

We do not remove accurate information at the request of individuals who simply prefer it not be published.

Independence

LeaderPortfolio's editorial decisions are made independently of advertisers. Sponsored content, if any, is clearly labelled and does not influence the editorial ranking or net worth methodology for any individual or company.
