Philip Ng was born in Hong Kong on September 16, 1959. At the age of seven, he immigrated with his family to the United States and spent his youth in Chicago, Illinois. He later pursued higher education, earning a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Kings College London and a Master of Science in Technology from MIT.

Returning to Hong Kong in 2002, Ng has made significant contributions to the real estate industry, and has amassed a fortune through Far East Organization, which was founded by his father, Ng Teng Fong.
