Early Life
Li Xiting was born in 1951 in Dangshan County, Anhui Province, China. He grew up in a rural area during a time of economic hardship. At age 18, he joined the People's Liberation Army. He later pursued higher education, graduating with a bachelor's degree in low-temperature physics from the University of Science and Technology of China in 1976.
Rise to Success
After graduation, Li worked as a researcher at various institutions before joining Anke Technology in 1987. In 1991, Li co-founded Mindray with seven colleagues. Mindray started by producing affordable medical monitors. Under Li's leadership, Mindray expanded its product line and achieved international certifications. The company went public on the New York Stock Exchange in 2006, and later relisted on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange. The COVID-19 pandemic significantly increased the demand for Mindray's medical equipment, boosting Li's wealth.

Li's success is attributed to Mindray's commitment to innovation and quality. The company invests a significant portion of its revenue in research and development. Mindray also expanded through strategic acquisitions, such as Datascope in 2008. Li emphasized teamwork and determination as key factors in his success.

Li is known for his philanthropy, particularly in education. He has donated millions to his alma mater, the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC). In 2024, he established a fund to support talent cultivation and scientific research at USTC. Mindray, under Li's leadership, also donated medical devices during the COVID-19 pandemic.
