Early Life
Jan Van Geet was born in Dendermonde, Belgium, in 1971. He began his career with the diaper manufacturer Ontex before moving to the Czech Republic to establish a new factory for the company.
Rise to Success
Van Geet's experience at Ontex served as a launchpad for his real estate ventures. In 2000, he founded VGP, a company focused on semi-industrial real estate development. Van Geet has steered VGP from a Belgian property developer in the Czech Republic to a pan-European powerhouse, owning, managing, and developing high-quality logistics and semi-industrial properties. By 2025, Van Geet's voting rights, through Little Rock S.à r.l. and Tomanvi SCA, had increased to 40.79%, solidifying his control over the company and allowing him to drive strategic decisions, such as the company's expansion into new markets and the development of renewable energy solutions. His influence has been a driving force behind VGP's success and expansion.
Key Business Strategies
VGP's key strategy involves acquiring land, constructing buildings, and managing rental income. The company focuses on semi-industrial real estate, with a strong presence in Eastern European countries and a growing presence in Germany and Spain. Van Geet emphasizes that VGP is a construction company, creating value by retaining its buildings once completed.
Philanthropy
In 2020, Van Geet launched the VGP Foundation, which aims to invest 2% of VGP's annual profits in social and cultural initiatives.
