Early Life
Mehmet Sinan Tara was born in Istanbul in 1958. He is the son of Lale and Şarık Tara, the founder of ENKA Holding. Sinan Tara attended the German High School in Istanbul and later pursued higher education in Switzerland and the United States. He graduated from ETH Zurich with a degree in civil engineering in 1980. He also earned an MBA from Stanford University in 1983.
Rise to Success
Sinan Tara joined ENKA in 1980, initially working as a field engineer in Saudi Arabia. He gained experience in various departments and projects, including finance and energy investments. In 1984, he took over the management of ENKA. Under his leadership, ENKA expanded its operations globally and undertook numerous large-scale projects. In 1994, he became the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Enka İnşaat ve Sanayi A.Ş.. His son, Agah Mehmet Tara, became CEO in 2012.
