Premchand Godha was born into a farming family in Rajasthan, India. He graduated in commerce from the University of Rajasthan and later qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 1971. He began his professional career managing the finances of the Bachchan family, including Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan. In 1975, Godha, along with the Bachchan family, invested in Ipca Laboratories, a pharmaceutical company that was struggling at the time. Under Godha's strategic leadership, Ipca Laboratories transformed from a loss-making firm into a profitable enterprise. He has been the Managing Director of the company since March 1983 and has over 45 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
