Premchand Godha was born into a farming family in Rajasthan, India. He graduated in commerce from the University of Rajasthan and later qualified as a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India in 1971. In 1975, Godha, along with the Bachchan family, invested in Ipca Laboratories, a pharmaceutical company that was struggling at the time. He has been the Managing Director of the company since March 1983 and has over 45 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
