Early Life
Jorge Feffer was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1965. He is the grandson of Leon Feffer, a Ukrainian immigrant who founded Suzano in 1924. Leon initially started a business in the envelope industry before establishing the foundation for what would become a major industrial player in Brazil.
Rise to Success
Feffer's career began in 1979 at Suzano, the family's pulp and paper business, where he started as a planning assistant. Over four decades, he has held various roles within the company. He was the Deputy Chief Corporate Officer of Suzano from 2013 to 2015. His journey within Suzano has been marked by significant contributions to the company's growth and expansion. Jorge Feffer, is known for his involvement in the acquisition of Fibria by Suzano in January 2019, creating Brazil's largest paper producer.
Key Business Strategies
Key to the Feffer family's success has been their focus on innovation and sustainability, along with strategic acquisitions like that of Fibria. Suzano's focus on the eucalyptus fiber, which has a faster growth cycle than traditional softwood, positioned the company for industrial production of pulp from eucalyptus on an industrial scale. Furthermore, Feffer has been involved in Suzano Holding S.A. and has been a director of Suzano Papel e Celulose S.A. since 2001.

Jorge Feffer is also involved in the Ecofuturo Institute and is known for his partnership in a book series called Library of Social Critics.
