George Raymond Zage III was born on January 20, 1970, in Schaumburg, Illinois, USA. Growing up, Zage was exposed to the world of investments early on. His father, a dentist, managed the family's investment portfolio. During his teenage years, Zage developed a strong interest in finance, spending hours analyzing market trends.
Rise to Success
Zage's career began at Goldman Sachs in New York City. He later moved to Singapore, where he worked in the investment banking division. In 2000, Zage joined Farallon Capital Management and established the hedge fund's Asian business. At Farallon, he spearheaded significant private investments in Asian corporations. In 2017, Zage founded Tiga Investments Pte Ltd. Zage's most notable investment is his stake in Grindr, a social networking app, where he also sits on the board of directors. He led the acquisition of Grindr in 2020.
