Early Life
Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani was born in Doha, Qatar, in 1948. He is a distant relative of the Qatari royal family. From a young age, Al Thani displayed an entrepreneurial spirit, starting his business ventures early in his life.
Rise to Success
At the age of 16, Al Thani began selling car parts. By the 1960s, he became the sole distributor of Bridgestone tires in Qatar. In 1964, he founded Al Faisal Holding, which has since grown into one of Qatar's largest and most diversified conglomerates. Al Faisal Holding operates across various sectors, including real estate, hospitality, trading, and construction. This strategic diversification has been key to his success.

Al Thani's business strategies have included identifying and capitalizing on exciting initiatives and opportunities, generating and nurturing a coordinated portfolio of market-leading businesses. He has a significant focus on the local and international hospitality sectors. Through Al Rayyan Tourism Investment Company (ARTIC), a subsidiary of Al Faisal Holding, he has invested significantly in the hospitality sector in the US and other countries, owning and operating numerous hotels worldwide, including the St. Regis and W Hotels.

Beyond business, Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani is known for his philanthropic efforts. He is involved in various social initiatives, particularly in education, healthcare, and cultural preservation. He founded the Al Faisal Without Borders Foundation (Alf), which focuses on developing and empowering individuals and families in fields of education, healthcare, and socio-cultural initiatives. He is also the founder of Sheikh Faisal Bin Qassim Al Thani Museum, which houses his collection of over 15,000 artifacts, showcasing Qatar's rich cultural heritage.
