Vladimir Voronin was born on May 25, 1941, in Corjova, Moldavian SSR. His early career began in the baking industry. He started as a bakery manager in Criuleni in 1961, and held positions as vice-director and head of bread factories in Dubăsari. Later, Voronin became involved in public administration within the Moldavian SSR, serving in various committees and eventually becoming Minister of Internal Affairs of the Moldovan SSR in 1988.

Voronin's career took a significant turn when he founded FSK Group in 2005, a major housing developer in Russia. Since 2022, he has expanded his holdings by acquiring Russian assets of foreign companies at discounted prices.
