Early Life
Paolo Rocca was born in Milan, Italy, in 1952. He is the son of Roberto Rocca, the Honorary Chairman of Techint, and the grandson of Agostino Rocca, the founder of the Techint Group. He earned a degree in political science from the Università degli Studi di Milano and an MBA from Harvard Business School in 1985.
Rise to Success
Rocca's career began as an assistant to the executive director of the World Bank. In 1985, he joined the Techint Group as an assistant to the chairman of the board of directors. He quickly ascended through the ranks, becoming executive vice-president of Siderca in 1990 and CEO of Tenaris and Techint in 2002. Under his leadership, Techint has expanded into a global steel and energy conglomerate operating in numerous countries.
Key Business Strategies
Rocca has led Techint through strategic acquisitions and expansions, driving the growth of Tenaris and Ternium. He also served as chairman of the World Steel Association from 2009-2010.
