Early Life
Maria Elvira "Marina" Berlusconi was born in Milan on August 10, 1966. She is the daughter of Silvio Berlusconi and his first wife, Carla Elvira Lucia Dall'Oglio. She has a younger brother, Pier Silvio Berlusconi, and three paternal half-siblings from her father's second marriage. Marina attended the Liceo Classico Leone Dehon in Monza. She enrolled in law school at the University of Milan but later switched to political science, without completing a degree in either field.
Rise to Success
Marina began her professional journey within the family business, Fininvest, during her adolescence. She started with summer internships at Fininvest subsidiaries at the age of 15 in 1981. She joined the board of Fininvest in 1994 and was appointed Deputy Chairman in 1996, and later became the chairwoman in 2005. Marina also chairs Arnoldo Mondadori Editore, Italy's largest publishing company, since 2003. Her leadership has been credited with restoring profitability to Fininvest.
