Early Life
Gang Ye was born in China and moved to Singapore during his teens through a government scholarship program. He attended Hwa Chong Institution and Raffles Junior College before pursuing higher education.
Rise to Success
Gang Ye co-founded Sea Limited (formerly known as Garena) in 2009 with Forrest Li and David Chen. He served as the Group Chief Technology Officer from March 2010 to December 2016, and has been the Group Chief Operating Officer since January 2017. Under his leadership, Sea Limited has expanded into digital entertainment (Garena), e-commerce (Shopee), and financial services (SeaMoney). Sea Limited achieved its first annual net profit in 2023, reporting $163 million on revenue of $13.1 billion.
