Dhruv Sawhney, an 81-year-old Indian citizen, is a highly educated businessman. He holds a Master's degree in Mechanical Sciences from Emmanuel College, University of Cambridge, U.K., and an MBA with distinction from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, U.S.A. He was also on the Dean's list during his time at Wharton.
Rise to Success
Dhruv Sawhney's career has been marked by significant leadership roles and achievements. He is the Chairman and Managing Director of the Triveni Group, encompassing Triveni Turbine Ltd. and Triveni Engineering and Industries Ltd.. He took charge of his father's sugar interests and merged them into Triveni Engineering and Industries. Triveni produces sugar and liquor and has a power transmission business. He was also the former founder of WOTU, the company that Zomato acquired and rebranded as Hyperpure. Sawhney was President of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) in 1991/92 when India started its economic liberalization program.

Dhruv Sawhney's business strategies have been instrumental in the success of the Triveni Group. He is the Chairman of Triveni Turbine Ltd. and Triveni Engineering and Industries Ltd., with a combined market capitalization of over $3 billion. Triveni Turbine is the second-largest global manufacturer of industrial steam turbines under 100 MW, with a market share of over 20%.
