Early Life
David Feffer was born in São Paulo, Brazil, in 1956. He is the eldest son of Max Feffer, whose father, Leon Feffer, founded the paper and pulp company Suzano in 1924. From a young age, David was involved in the family business, learning alongside his grandfather and father. He has three brothers: Daniel, Jorge, and Ruben, all of whom are also billionaires.
Rise to Success
Feffer began his career in the family business at the age of 18, starting in the transportation sector and gaining experience across various departments. In 2001, he became the CEO of Suzano, revitalizing the business and implementing a new management model with a focus on professionalization and corporate governance. In 2003, he stepped down as CEO to become Chairman of the Board of Suzano and President of Suzano Holding. Under his leadership, in 2019, Suzano acquired Fibria Celulose for $7.5 billion, creating the largest paper producer in Brazil. Feffer has a Bachelor of Business Administration from Mackenzie University and attended courses at Columbia University, the Aspen Institute, and IMD in Switzerland.
