Early Life
Zhou Jian was born in China and founded UBTECH Robotics in 2012. Before starting UBTECH, Zhou was the director of ISC marketing and sales at Robstep Robotics from August 2013 to December 2016. Prior to that, he was a project manager and marketing manager at Shine Model (DUBAI) Manufacturing LLC from April 2007 to April 2012. Zhou also served as the chief assistant to the company president. Zhou Jian has a Master of Business Administration from Concordia University-Wisconsin and a B.A. in International Business/Trade/Commerce from Tianjin Foreign Studies University.
Rise to Success
Zhou Jian's journey in robotics began with a focus on servo motors, the 'joints' of robots. He dedicated five years to developing these, which became the foundation for UBTECH's Alpha robots. During difficult times, Zhou invested heavily in research and development, even selling personal assets. A key turning point was the 2016 Spring Festival Gala, where UBTECH's robots gained significant recognition, leading to increased revenue and funding.

Zhou's strategy includes ongoing development of servo motor technology, creating an open platform for UBTECH's robots, and integrating artificial intelligence to equip humanoid robots with advanced capabilities.
Philanthropy
Zhou Jian co-founded the Beijing Gan'en Philanthropic Foundation in 2012. The foundation focuses on rescue relief, community development, and education.
