Huang's career took a significant turn in 2011 when he co-founded Contemporary Amperex Technology Co. Limited (CATL). CATL has become the world's largest battery supplier for the electric vehicle industry. Huang held various leadership positions, including General Manager and Vice Chairman. In 2018, Huang owned a 12% stake in CATL. CATL went public on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in June 2018, which significantly increased Huang's wealth.
