Vyacheslav Kim was born on June 12, 1969, in Almaty, Kazakhstan. He completed his secondary education at the Republican Physics and Mathematics School. Kim later graduated from Almaty State University with a degree in finance and from the Russian-Kazakh Modern Humanitarian University with a degree in management.

Kim's entrepreneurial journey began in 1993 when he co-founded Planet Electroniki, a retail chain specializing in electronics. Over time, Planet Electroniki became the largest electronics retail network in Kazakhstan. A pivotal moment in Kim's career was his involvement with Kaspi.kz. He co-founded Kaspi.kz, and the company transformed into a comprehensive digital ecosystem offering payment solutions, e-commerce, and banking services. The company's IPO on the London Stock Exchange in 2020 significantly increased Kim's wealth, making him a billionaire. Kim's stake in Kaspi.kz is the primary source of his wealth.
