Timur Turlov

Early Life and Education

Timur Turlov was born in Moscow, Russia, on November 13, 1987. He holds a degree in economics. Turlov began his career at 16 as a trader at World Capital Investments (WCI).

Rise to Success

In 2008, at 21 years old, Timur Turlov founded Freedom Finance, a brokerage firm providing access to US stock exchanges. In 2011, he moved to Kazakhstan, opening a subsidiary, Freedom Finance JSC, which became a leading brokerage in the country. By 2019, Turlov consolidated his businesses under Freedom Holding Corp. and took it public on NASDAQ. The company became the first financial institution from the CIS to be listed on the platform.
