Shu Ping, born in China, is a co-founder of Haidilao International Holding, a global hot pot restaurant chain. She was born in 1970. In 1994, she and three friends, including her husband, Zhang Yong, started their first restaurant with personal savings.
Rise to Success
Haidilao's success is attributed to its unique customer service, attentive service and free manicures while customers wait. This has led to rapid expansion, with nearly 1,400 restaurants in Greater China. Shu Ping became chairman of Super Hi, Haidilao's overseas business, in 2023. Super Hi went public in Hong Kong in 2022 and had a dual listing on Nasdaq in 2024.
