Nihat Ozdemir was born on April 5, 1950, in Diyarbakir, Turkey. He completed his primary and secondary education in Diyarbakir. He graduated from Ankara State Engineering and Architecture Academy (now Gazi University Faculty of Engineering) with a degree in mechanical engineering.

Ozdemir co-founded Limak Holding in 1976 with Sezai Bacaksız. Limak Holding initially focused on construction, but later expanded into infrastructure, energy, tourism, cement, and other sectors. He also served as the Deputy President and Press Spokesman for Fenerbahçe SK. Ozdemir has been recognized as one of Turkey's most successful businessmen.
