Nihat Ozdemir was born on April 5, 1950, in Diyarbakir, Turkey. He completed his primary and secondary education in Diyarbakir. He graduated from Ankara State Engineering and Architecture Academy (now Gazi University Faculty of Engineering) with a degree in mechanical engineering.
