Julio Bozano

Early Life

Júlio Rafael de Aragão Bozano was born in 1936 in Brazil. He studied economics at the University of São Paulo. Bozano showed an early aptitude for business and finance, which led him to a successful career in the financial sector.

Rise to Success

In 1961, Bozano co-founded Grupo Bozano with Mario Henrique Simonsen. He later co-founded Banco Bozano Simonsen, an investment bank. The bank became one of the most successful investment banks in Brazil. In 2000, Banco Bozano Simonsen was acquired by Spanish bank Santander for $3.6 billion. After selling the bank, Bozano focused on other business interests, including his horse breeding farm, Haras Santa Maria De Araras, and his private equity fund, Bozano Investimentos.
