Jet Jie Li, born Li Lianjie on April 26, 1963, in Beijing, China, began his journey in life. His father died when he was young, leaving his family with hardships. Li's family sent him to the Beijing Shichahai Sports School where he started his Wushu training.

Li's career started with his film debut in Shaolin Temple (1982). His fame in martial arts, particularly Changquan and Fanziquan, helped him gain recognition and lead to a successful acting career.

In 2015, Jet Jie Li founded J&T Global Express in Jakarta after a successful stint leading the expansion of Chinese smartphone maker OPPO in various Asian countries.
