Information regarding Chen Xuehua's early life is limited. However, it is known that he used to work at the Xianghou Village Chemical Factory and the Huaxin Chemical Factory in Tongxiang City before establishing Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Co., Ltd. in 2002.
Rise to Success
Chen Xuehua's career began with the founding of Zhejiang Huayou Cobalt Co., Ltd. in 2002. He served as the chairman and general manager from June 2002 to July 2016, and then as chairman from July 2016 onward. Under his leadership, Huayou Cobalt has become one of China's largest mining-related businesses, specializing in cobalt and nickel products and supplying the world's EV industry. The company's revenue in 2023 was CNY 65.36 billion (approximately $8.9 billion USD). Chen has been recognized as a deputy to the 14th National People's Congress.

Chen Xuehua has focused on the "Two New Areas and Three Trends" development strategy, including new energy, new materials, and business internationalization. He has also emphasized innovation, establishing a full-cycle new energy lithium battery material industry chain.
