Early Life
Alexander Klyachin was born in Moscow, Russia, on May 18, 1967. He graduated from Moscow School 57 in 1984. Klyachin pursued higher education, earning degrees from Moscow State University (Geography Department, 1991) and Oregon State University in the USA (Geography, 1993).
Rise to Success
After graduating from Oregon State University, Klyachin entered the finance industry. However, he soon shifted his focus to real estate, where he acquired land plots in and around Moscow in the early 2000s. A pivotal moment in his career was the founding of Azimut Hotels in 2006. This hotel chain specialized in renovating older buildings and hotels from the Soviet era, growing to become one of Russia's leading hotel chains, with a presence in Europe as well. In 2012, Klyachin acquired the historic Metropol Hotel near the Moscow Kremlin.

Klyachin's business strategy has involved identifying and acquiring strategic real estate assets. He has redeveloped former industrial zones into modern business districts through his company KR Properties. His focus on the hospitality sector with Azimut Hotels has also been a key factor in his success, expanding the chain's reach both within Russia and internationally. Furthermore, Klyachin has been involved in various investment projects across several sectors, including oil, technology, and restaurants.
Philanthropy
Klyachin founded the Khamovniki charity foundation to support social research. Additionally, he actively participates in cultural and educational initiatives, and he currently serves as the board chairman of Moscow's Jewish Museum and Tolerance Center.
