Early Life and Education
Carlie Irsay-Gordon was born in Dallas, Texas, on September 29, 1980, but moved to Indianapolis at the age of 3. She is the eldest daughter of Jim Irsay and Meg Coyle. She attended Park Tudor School in Indianapolis and graduated in 1999. She earned a bachelor's degree from Skidmore College in 2005, where she studied religious studies and geoscience. She was a competitive equestrian rider until the age of 20.
Rise to Success
Carlie Irsay-Gordon's career with the Indianapolis Colts began in the ticket office and subsequently marketing and sales. She represented the team at ownership meetings beginning in 2004. She was made a team vice-president in 2008. In March 2012, Carlie and her sisters, Casey and Kalen, were announced as co-owners of the Colts. After her father's death in May 2025, Carlie Irsay-Gordon assumed the titles of owner and CEO of the team.
Key Business Strategies
Carlie Irsay-Gordon created and oversees the Colts' Tony Dungy Diversity Coaching Fellowship and the Harriet P. Irsay Fellowship for Women in Football programs. She has also served on several NFL committees, including those for media, equity, security, and fan conduct, and on the board of the NFL Player Care Foundation. She is active in the administration of the NFL as a member of the league's Media Owned & Operated Committee, which oversees all NFL media properties and sets media strategies across the NFL. She has a hands-on approach, attending meetings with players and coaches and standing on the sideline during games listening to play calls over a headset.
Philanthropy
Irsay-Gordon serves on the board of trustees of her alma mater, the Park Tudor School. She is also on the board of the Lake Maxinkuckee Environmental Fund. She previously served on the board of Visit Indy and as co-chair of the Indy Championships Fund. She has also spearheaded the Kicking the Stigma campaign, focusing on mental health awareness and fundraising.
