Early Life
Arthur Morris Blank was born on September 27, 1942, in Flushing, Queens, New York. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School in New York City and earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with Distinction from Babson College in 1963.
Rise to Success
Blank's career began at Arthur Young and Company as a senior accountant. He later joined the Daylin Corporation, eventually becoming the president of Elliott's Drug Stores/Stripe Discount Stores, a division of Daylin. In 1978, Blank co-founded The Home Depot with Bernard Marcus after both were fired from Handy Dan Home Improvement Centers. They revolutionized the home improvement industry with their warehouse concept, and Blank became a billionaire as a result. He retired as Home Depot's co-chairman in 2001. In 2002, Blank purchased the Atlanta Falcons. In 2014, he acquired Atlanta United FC, which began play in 2017.
Key Business Strategies
Blank's success stems from his business acumen, including his focus on creating value for companies, customers, and communities. He applied the same principles he used at Home Depot to his sports teams and other ventures. Blank emphasizes the importance of a "good company" producing both profit and purpose.

Blank is a dedicated philanthropist, primarily through the Arthur M. Blank Family Foundation. The foundation has granted over $1.3 billion since 1995, supporting areas such as youth development, education, and community redevelopment.
