Early Life
Kallam Satish Reddy was born in Hyderabad, India, and holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Osmania University and a Master of Science in Medicinal Chemistry from Purdue University. His father, K. Anji Reddy, founded Dr. Reddy's Laboratories in 1984.
Rise to Success
Satish Reddy joined Dr. Reddy's Laboratories in 1993 as an executive director and became the Managing Director in 1997. Under his leadership, the company transitioned from manufacturing active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) to a diverse portfolio of finished dosage formulations. He spearheaded the expansion of Dr. Reddy's finished dosage products into Russia, the CIS countries, and other emerging markets, strengthening its global presence. In 2019, he was named President of the Indian Pharmaceutical Alliance. He has also played a key role in shaping policies concerning the pharmaceutical sector, including India's patent laws and drug pricing.

Philanthropy
Satish Reddy is the Chairman of the Dr. Reddy's Foundation, which focuses on vocational education to create sustainable livelihoods for the less privileged. He also serves as a Trustee of the Naandi Foundation, which works in the areas of child rights, education, and safe drinking water. In 2007, he was identified as a “Young Global Leader” by the World Economic Forum and received the “IBLA – India Corporate Citizen of the Year” award from CNBC in 2005 for his contributions to Corporate Social Responsibility.
