Early Life
Kallam Satish Reddy was born on June 9, 1967, in Hyderabad, India. He is the son of K. Anji Reddy, the founder of Dr. Reddy's Laboratories. His father, a pioneer in the Indian pharmaceutical sector, established the company in 1984 after working in public-sector drug research. Satish completed his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Osmania University in 1988 and later earned a Master of Science in Medicinal Chemistry from Purdue University.
Rise to Success
Satish Reddy joined Dr. Reddy's Laboratories in 1993 as an executive director. He rose through the ranks, becoming the Managing Director in 1997. Under his leadership, the company transitioned from a manufacturer of active pharmaceutical ingredients to one with a diverse product portfolio of finished dosage formulations. He was instrumental in establishing a strong footprint for Dr. Reddy's finished dosage products in Russia, CIS countries, and other emerging markets. He was named Chairman in May 2014.
