Rubens Menin Teixeira de Souza was born on March 12, 1956, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil. He comes from a family with a strong tradition in engineering, which influenced his career path from a young age. Menin graduated with a degree in civil engineering from the Federal University of Minas Gerais in 1978.
Rise to Success
Menin co-founded MRV Engenharia in 1979 with Mario Lucio Pinheiro Menin and Vega Engenharia, and transformed it into Brazil's leading homebuilder, focusing on the low-income segment. The company's growth expanded from Minas Gerais to other Brazilian states. In 1994, Menin founded Banco Inter, a digital bank that has grown significantly over the years. His entrepreneurial skills were recognized when he was named Ernst & Young World Entrepreneur of the Year in 2018.
