Early Life
Roberto Angelini Rossi was born in Ferrara, Italy, on July 30, 1948. At the age of three, he moved to Chile. He earned a degree in Industrial Civil Engineering from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
Rise to Success
Rossi began his professional career working in a fishing plant in Arica, Chile, in 1976. He joined The Angelini Group, established by his uncle Anacleto Angelini. The company is involved in natural resources such as minerals, fishing, natural gas, mining, copper, and timber. Rossi held various administrative positions before taking over the company after his uncle's death. He is currently the head of Inversiones Angelini, one of Chile's largest investment groups.
Key Business Strategies
Rossi has been instrumental in expanding the Angelini Group. In 2009, he helped the enterprise enter a deal with Scandinavian paper company Stora Enso to establish a eucalyptus pulp factory in Uruguay. The company also acquired a 59% stake in Proenergia, a Colombian gas and fuel distributor. Roberto Angelini Rossi also leads Empresas Copec S.A., a leading forestry industry conglomerate in Chile.
