Early Life
Remo Ruffini was born in Como, Italy, on August 27, 1961. He grew up in a family involved in the fashion industry, with his father running a clothing company. This early exposure instilled a passion for fashion and business. In his late teens, he moved to the United States to work in his father's clothing company.
Rise to Success
Ruffini returned to Italy at the age of 23 and founded the New England clothing brand, which he later sold. In 2003, he acquired Moncler, a brand that was struggling at the time, and transformed it into a luxury brand by introducing vibrant designs and expanding international distribution. He partnered with the Carlyle Group to expand internationally and launched the Moncler Genius project in 2018, which involved collaborations with different designers. In 2013, Moncler went public on the Milan Stock Exchange.

Ruffini's strategies included repositioning Moncler as a luxury brand, introducing new designs and colors, and expanding internationally. He also focused on innovative marketing and experiential events. The acquisition of Stone Island in 2020 further expanded the Moncler Group's portfolio.
