Early Life
P.V. Ramprasad Reddy was born on August 15, 1957, in Gudur, Andhra Pradesh, India. His father was a farmer, and his mother was a homemaker. He completed his Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) and Master of Commerce (M.Com) degrees from Sri Venkateswara University. From a humble background, he started his career as an entry-level clerk in a purchase department.
Rise to Success
In 1986, along with his brother-in-law K. Nityananda Reddy, he co-founded Aurobindo Pharma. The company initially focused on manufacturing semi-synthetic penicillin and expanded into producing various pharmaceutical products. Through strategic decisions and a focus on quality, Aurobindo Pharma expanded its product range and entered international markets. Under Reddy's leadership, the company grew from a small enterprise to one of the largest pharmaceutical companies in India.
