Early Life
Mohamed Mansour was born in Alexandria, Egypt, in January 1948, into a prominent business family. His family's business, the Mansour Group, was founded in 1952 by his father, Loutfy Mansour. Mansour received an engineering degree from North Carolina State University in 1968 and a Master's in Business Administration from Auburn University in 1971. He taught at Auburn University until 1973.
Rise to Success
After graduating, Mansour joined the family business and played an active role in expanding the Mansour Group. Under his leadership, the company diversified into various industries, including automotive, retail, energy, and real estate. Mansour established General Motors dealerships in Egypt in 1975, becoming one of GM's biggest distributors worldwide. He also secured exclusive distribution rights for Caterpillar equipment in several African countries.

Mansour's leadership of the Mansour Group led to significant corporate developments, including the establishment of Man Capital in London. The company has expanded its international partnerships, investing in companies such as Uber, Spotify, Airbnb, Facebook, and Twitter. The Mansour Group is the second-largest company in Egypt by revenue.
Philanthropy
Mansour is passionate about giving back to society, focusing on education, healthcare, and social development. He founded the Lead Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides funding to small and micro enterprises operated by under-privileged women in Egypt. He is also a trustee of the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo. He is involved with the National Cancer Institute of Egypt and supports the Prince's Foundation in the UK.
