Early Life and Education
Sol Daurella Comadrán was born in Barcelona, Spain, in 1966. She comes from a family with a long-standing tradition in the food and beverage industry. Daurella's grandfather was a Spanish importer of salted cod. She pursued her education at an English school in Switzerland and earned a degree in Business Administration from ESADE Business School in Barcelona. She furthered her education by obtaining an MBA from ESADE and a master's degree in Finance from the University of California, Berkeley.
Rise to Success
Daurella began her professional career at Mac Group, a strategic consultancy firm. She joined the Coca-Cola system in 1992. Her career advanced through various leadership positions within the family's bottling operations in Spain. She became the CEO of Coca-Cola Iberian Partners before becoming the chairwoman of Coca-Cola Europacific Partners (CCEP) in 2016. The Daurella family's involvement in Coca-Cola dates back to 1951, when they obtained the bottling license in Spain. Sol Daurella's leadership has been critical in the expansion and success of CCEP.
Key Business Strategies
Daurella's strategic focus has been on expanding Coca-Cola's reach and market presence. She played a key role in the merger that formed CCEP, which became the world's largest independent Coca-Cola bottler. The acquisition of Coca-Cola Amatil in 2021 was another key strategic move that expanded CCEP's footprint into the Asia-Pacific region.
Philanthropy
Sol Daurella is involved in various philanthropic initiatives. She is the vice-chair of the FERO Oncology Research Foundation and is a member of the Instituto de la Empresa Familiar. She also serves on the board of Fundación SHE, which focuses on promoting women's health. Furthermore, she supports initiatives to improve access to education for underprivileged youth in Latin America and Spain through her work with Fundación Empieza por Educar.
