Nie Tengyun was born in January 1976 in Tonglu, Zhenjiang province, China. His early career involved working with his brother Tenfei's STO Express, giving him an initial understanding of the logistics industry.
Rise to Success
In 1998, following his brother's passing, Nie founded Yunda Express. Initially, the company had only 17 employees. Under Nie's leadership, Yunda Express expanded its operations, providing delivery services for Taobao, Alibaba's online marketplace, in 2007. The company further grew with expansions into Taiwan and Hong Kong in 2009. The company's most significant achievement includes a backdoor listing on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in December 2016. Nie is the chairman and president of Yunda Holding, one of China's largest express delivery companies.
