Early Life and Education
Maria Angelicoussis was born into a family with a rich maritime history. Her grandfather, Antonis, founded the Angelicoussis Shipping Group in 1947. Maria graduated with first-class honors in Medicine from Downing College, Cambridge, in 2003. She furthered her education by completing post-graduate clinical medical studies at University College, London, in 2006.
Rise to Success
Maria began her career as a doctor in the National Health Service before joining the Angelicoussis Group in 2008. She initially served as the group's vice president. After her father, John Angelicoussis, passed away in April 2021, Maria took over as CEO of the Angelicoussis Group. Under her leadership, the Group has continued its expansion, with a focus on modernization and sustainability. Maria has been instrumental in incorporating cutting-edge technologies and reducing the company's carbon footprint.
