Early Life
Jack Dorsey was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. From a young age, he showed a keen interest in computers and communication. He attended Bishop DuBourg High School and developed software for dispatch logistics, which was used by taxicab companies. He briefly attended the University of Missouri–Rolla and later transferred to New York University, but dropped out before graduating to focus on his entrepreneurial pursuits.
Rise to Success
Dorsey's breakthrough came with the co-founding of Twitter in 2006, which quickly became a global platform for real-time communication. He served as CEO of Twitter from 2007 to 2008, and again from 2015 to 2021. In 2009, Dorsey co-founded Square (now Block, Inc.), a financial services and mobile payment company. Square's success further solidified his position in the tech industry.
