Li Liufa's career began in the late 1970s when he started working at a fertilizer factory in Henan Province. However, he aspired to more than just working for others, so he gained experience and then started his own steel casting factory. This marked the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey.

Li Liufa founded the Tianrui Group, which initially focused on steel but expanded to include interests in tourism, cement, and minerals.
