Early Life and Education
Leonid Arnoldovich Fedun was born on April 5, 1956, in Kyiv, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union (now Ukraine). His early life included a military background, graduating from the Rostov Higher Military Command School in 1977. He furthered his education at the Dzerzhinsky Military Academy, earning a Ph.D. in 1984. During his time in the military, he served as a lecturer in political science and economics, reaching the rank of colonel.
Rise to Success
Fedun's transition into the business world began in 1992 with the founding of Neftkonsult LLP. He played a key role in the privatization of Lukoil, becoming Vice President of the company in 1995. His financial success is largely attributed to his substantial ownership stake in Lukoil. From 1996 to 2022, he served as Vice President of Lukoil, contributing to the company's growth.

Fedun's business acumen helped transform Lukoil into a leading global energy player. His strategic focus on exploration, production, and refining operations was crucial for solidifying Lukoil's position in the global energy market. He also invested in FC Spartak Moscow, overseeing infrastructure improvements.

In 2020, Fedun donated 10 million rubles to the Vishnevsky Institute of Surgery to fight COVID-19.
