Biography
Li Ge, a Chinese-American entrepreneur and philanthropist, is the founder, chairman, and CEO of WuXi AppTec, a leading contract research, development, and manufacturing organization (CRDMO) in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. Born in China, he earned a Ph.D. in organic chemistry from Columbia University. Li Ge's wealth stems from his work in the healthcare sector, specifically the pharmaceutical industry. His career began after he earned a B.A. from Peking University and gained valuable experience at Pharmacopeia, Inc. He then co-founded WuXi AppTec in Shanghai in 2000 with his late wife, Ning Zhao. Li has been recognized for his leadership and business acumen, including being named to the Committee of One Hundred. He is also known for his philanthropy, with significant donations to educational and medical institutions.
