Law Kar Po was born in 1948 in Hong Kong. His family migrated to Hong Kong in the 1940s with little wealth. His father, Law Ting-pong, established a successful textile business. Law Kar Po's upbringing was similar to other middle-class families.
Rise to Success
Law Kar Po, along with his father, started in the textile business as small-time clothing merchants. This small business turned into one of the biggest garment manufacturers in Hong Kong. This success led to the establishment of Bossini, a fashion label. Following the success in the clothing business, Law Kar Po decided to try his fortune in a different business genre. He began investing in and acquiring hotels. Today, Law Kar Po's Park Hotel Group has 12 hotels operating in 5 countries and 8 cities in the Asia-Pacific region. He is also the owner of Lobo Investment, a real estate company. His strategy for success includes buying low, selling high, and paying close attention to Feng Shui.
