Kagemasa Kozuki, also known as Kaz Kozuki, was born in Osaka, Japan, on November 12, 1940. Information about his early life is limited, but he developed an interest in electronics and technology. He pursued a Bachelor of Arts/Science from Kansai University.

Kozuki founded Konami Industry Co., Ltd. in 1969. Initially, the company focused on manufacturing amusement machines for arcades starting in 1973.
