Rise to Success
Roig's career began in the family business, Cárnicas Roig Group, which evolved into the Mercadona supermarket chain. In 1981, he, along with his siblings, took control of Mercadona. However, Fernando later transitioned to other ventures, retaining a 9% stake in Mercadona, which significantly contributed to his wealth. His primary focus became the ceramics industry. In 1972, he founded Pamesa Cerámica, which has grown to become a leading global producer of ceramic tiles.
