Early Life

Edwin Soeryadjaya was born in Jakarta, Indonesia, on July 17, 1949. He is the second son of William Soeryadjaya, the founder of Astra International, one of Indonesia's largest conglomerates. Edwin's early life was shaped by his father's entrepreneurial spirit and the family's involvement in the business world.

Rise to Success

Edwin joined Astra International in 1978, where he spearheaded the restructuring of the company's financial structure. He played a key role in taking the company public in 1990, which was the largest IPO in Indonesia at the time. After leaving Astra in 1993, Edwin established Saratoga Investama Sedaya in 1998. Through Saratoga, he made strategic investments in the energy and infrastructure sectors.
