Prajogo Pangestu, born Phang Djoen Phen, is an Indonesian business magnate, investor, and philanthropist. He is the founder of the Barito Pacific Group, a diversified conglomerate with interests in petrochemicals, energy, forestry, and mining. With a current net worth of $41.9 billion as of December 2024, he is the wealthiest person in Indonesia and among the wealthiest in Southeast Asia. His career began in the timber industry, with Barito Pacific Timber becoming the largest company on the Jakarta Stock Exchange in 1993. Prajogo expanded into petrochemicals, acquiring Chandra Asri Petrochemical, and later into renewable energy with Star Energy. His strategic investments have solidified his position in the energy sector.
