Denise Coates was born in Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, England. She attended Sandbach High School and later earned a first-class degree in econometrics from the University of Sheffield. She began her career in her family's bookmaking firm, Provincial Racing, working in the cashier's department and later as an accountant.
Rise to Success
In 1995, Coates became the managing director of a small chain of betting shops. Recognizing the potential of the internet, she purchased the domain name Bet365.com in 2000 and launched the online betting site in 2001. Under her leadership, Bet365 has grown exponentially, becoming a global leader in the online gambling industry. Bet365 has expanded its operations globally, including the US market.
