Early Life
Nik Storonsky was born on July 21, 1984, in Dolgoprudny, Russia. As a child, he was interested in economics and business from a young age. He excelled in academics, earning a Master of Science in General and Applied Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology in 2007 and a Master of Applied Economics and Finance from the New Economic School in Moscow, also in 2007. He was also a state champion swimmer.
Rise to Success
Storonsky began his career in the financial sector as an equity derivatives trader at Lehman Brothers in London in 2006. Later, he moved to Credit Suisse, where he worked until 2013. In 2015, he co-founded Revolut with Vlad Yatsenko, aiming to disrupt the traditional financial services industry by providing a digital banking platform. Under Storonsky's leadership, Revolut has expanded globally, offering a wide array of financial services, and has grown to over 65 million customers. Storonsky renounced his Russian citizenship in October 2022.
