Dmitri Bukhman

Early Life

Dmitri Bukhman was born in Vologda, Russia, on May 27, 1985. From a young age, he showed a keen interest in programming. He and his brother, Igor, began selling games online while still in high school, laying the foundation for their future in the gaming industry.

Rise to Success

In 2004, Dmitri and Igor officially founded Playrix while Dmitri was studying at the Vologda State Pedagogical Institute. Initially, the company focused on developing casual games for PC. By 2007, Playrix had expanded to 16 games, with a monthly revenue of around $300,000. Recognizing the potential of mobile gaming, Dmitri spearheaded Playrix's transition to mobile platforms, leading to globally acclaimed titles like Homescapes, Gardenscapes, and Fishdom. These games achieved massive user bases and substantial revenue through in-app purchases.

Key Business Strategies

Dmitri's success is attributed to his strategic foresight and adaptability in the dynamic gaming industry. He oversaw the acquisition of several gaming studios, including Plexonic and Eipix Entertainment in 2019, expanding Playrix's development capabilities and diversifying its game offerings. By 2023, Playrix employed over 3,000 people globally and was ranked among the top mobile publishers by annual revenue. In October 2021, the Bukhman brothers launched the Rix Capital family fund.

Philanthropy

Dmitri is known for his philanthropic efforts. In 2024, the Bukhman Family Foundation was established to support research into a cure for type 1 diabetes, as well as providing funding for science, education, and the arts.
