Karel Komarek was born in Hodonín, Czech Republic, on March 15, 1969. He graduated in engineering and briefly worked at Sigma Hodonín. His early interest in engineering laid the foundation for his later entrepreneurial pursuits.
Rise to Success
Komarek's entrepreneurial journey began in 1992 when he founded M.O.S. Hodonín, a wholesale business for industrial valves. This venture marked the start of his business career. In 1995, he established the internationally active investment company KKCG. KKCG's business activities expanded to include lotteries and gambling, energy, information technology, and investments. Komarek's leadership helped KKCG become a major player in various sectors across 33 countries by 2022. A key milestone was the acquisition of Sazka, the largest Czech lottery company, which later became the cornerstone for the Allwyn Group.

Komarek's business strategy has focused on strategic investments and expansion. His company, KKCG, has made significant investments in the lottery and entertainment, energy, IT, and real estate sectors. A major part of Komarek's strategy involved taking Allwyn public through a SPAC merger in January 2022. Allwyn has grown into an international entertainment platform with a presence in the UK, US, Greece, Cyprus, Austria, and Italy.
Philanthropy
Karel Komarek is actively involved in philanthropy through the Karel Komárek Family Foundation. The foundation supports cultural and educational initiatives. Komarek co-founded the Dvořák Prague International Music Festival and also supports the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. He has also supported the reconstruction of Hodonín after a tornado in 2021.
